The Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 is the mid-level performance version of the GLC SUV, sold in the US alongside the plug-in-hybrid GLC 350e. It uses an AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter turbo inline-six with an electric auxiliary compressor and hybrid assist, producing 443 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, with 10-second bursts of up to 472 lb-ft available, through AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.
It rides on AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with three-stage variable damping, an electromechanical coupling that varies the front-to-rear torque split, and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes, with a panorama roof and DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control standard.
It suits buyers who want noticeably more performance than the mainstream GLC without stepping up to a V8 AMG SUV.
