The S-Class.
The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship full-size luxury sedan, extensively updated for the 2027 model year with revised styling, updated engines and the MB.OS operating system. The S 500 4MATIC uses a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-6 with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing 442 hp and 443 lb-ft through a nine-speed automatic and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
The S 580 4MATIC steps up to a 530 hp 4.0L twin-turbo V8, and an S 580e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid with 576 hp combined is scheduled to reach U.S. dealers in the fourth quarter of 2026. AIRMATIC air suspension with intelligent damper control, 4.5-degree rear-axle steering, a panorama roof and an MBUX Superscreen spanning the dashboard are standard on every version.
