OVERVIEW
The GLE.
The GLE is Mercedes-Benz's midsize luxury SUV, extensively updated for the 2027 model year with a revised engine range, new front styling and the MB.OS operating system. The base GLE 350 4MATIC uses a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 with an electric compressor and a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft through a nine-speed automatic and standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
The SUV lineup continues with the six-cylinder GLE 450 4MATIC, the GLE 500e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid and the V8-powered GLE 580 4MATIC, with Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 HYBRID and GLE 63 S versions above them. An MBUX Superscreen with three 12.3-inch displays and a panoramic sliding sunroof are standard, a third seating row is optional, and properly equipped models can tow up to 7,700 lbs.
It suits buyers who want a five-seat luxury SUV with real towing capacity and a choice of four-cylinder, six-cylinder, plug-in hybrid and V8 power.
