The G 580 with EQ Technology.
The G 580 with EQ Technology is the all-electric version of Mercedes-Benz's G-Class off-roader, using four independently controlled electric motors, one per wheel, for a combined 579 hp and 859 lb-ft of torque. A 116 kWh battery gives an EPA-estimated 249 miles of range, and the electric motors make possible G-Turn, which rotates the SUV in place on loose surfaces, and G-Steering, which pivots around the inside rear wheel to tighten the turning circle.
It keeps the G-Class's off-road credentials, with 9.8 inches of ground clearance, a 33.5-inch wading depth, and selectable Crawl modes, while top speed is electronically limited to 112 mph, lower than the gasoline G-Wagens because of the drivetrain's design. DC fast charging at up to 200 kW can take the battery from 10-80% in about 32 minutes.
It suits buyers who want the G-Class's shape, off-road ability and low-speed maneuvering tricks without a combustion engine, accepting less range and a lower top speed than the V8 models in exchange.
