The AMG SL.
The 2027 Mercedes-AMG SL is a two-plus-two convertible sold in three versions. The entry SL 43 pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 48-volt hybrid assist for 416 hp and 369 lb-ft, sent through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT nine-speed transmission to the rear wheels; the SL 55 and SL 63 move to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and the SL 63 can run fully rear-wheel drive in Drift Mode.
Mercedes quotes 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds for the SL 43 and 3.5 seconds for the SL 63, with top speed ranging from 171 mph to 196 mph across the range. The EPA rates the SL 43 at 19 mpg city and 27 highway. All three keep a Z-fold retractable soft top, 2+2 seating and AMG's digital cockpit, with AMG Active Ride Control suspension on the SL 63.
It suits buyers who want an open-top AMG that can be ordered as an efficient four-cylinder or stepped up to V8 power.
