The i3.
The 2027 BMW i3 is an all-new electric sports sedan, the second Neue Klasse model and the battery-electric counterpart to the new 3 Series. It shares only its name with the earlier i3 hatchback. The launch model, the i3 50 xDrive, uses a rear EESM motor and a front ASM motor for a combined 463 hp and 476 lb-ft, with standard all-wheel drive and a BMW-quoted 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds.
As of October 2026, BMW USA has announced a base MSRP of $61,500 plus $1,350 destination and has opened orders, with US deliveries starting in the first quarter of 2027. Range is a BMW estimate of 446 to 468 miles based on EPA test procedures; the official EPA rating has not been published yet. The 800-volt system accepts up to 400 kW DC, adding up to 208 miles in 10 minutes, and the car is built at BMW Group Plant Munich. An i3 M60 xDrive is scheduled to follow in 2027.
It suits buyers who want a 3 Series-sized electric sedan with long range, fast charging and BMW's newest Panoramic iDrive cabin.
