The M5.
The 2027 BMW M5 is the current plug-in hybrid generation of BMW's high-performance midsize sedan. It pairs a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with a 194-hp electric motor for a combined 717 hp and 738 lb-ft, sent through an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic to M xDrive all-wheel drive.
The sedan is offered in one model, with the M5 Touring wagon sold alongside. BMW quotes 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, or 190 mph with the M Driver's Package; the 14.8-kWh battery provides an estimated 25 miles of electric range, and M xDrive includes 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD modes.
It suits drivers who want a four-door sedan with high-performance hardware and some electric-only driving range.
