The X5 M.
The 2026 BMW X5 M Competition is the high-performance version of the X5 midsize SUV, from the F95 generation built at BMW Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina. It uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 48V mild-hybrid technology, rated at 617 hp and 553 lb-ft, with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic and M xDrive all-wheel drive.
It is sold in a single Competition trim, with BMW quoting 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a 155-mph limited top speed, or 177 mph with the M Driver's Package. Cargo space is 33.9 cu ft behind the rear seats and 72.3 cu ft with them folded. BMW launched an all-new 2027 X5 in October 2026 and says a V8-powered M Performance variant follows later in 2027, while a next-generation X5 M has not yet been officially detailed.
It suits drivers who want a roomy five-seat SUV with V8 power and track-capable M hardware.
