OVERVIEW
The XM.
The BMW XM is BMW M's plug-in hybrid flagship SUV, built at BMW Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina, and in the US it is now sold only as the XM Label. Its M Hybrid system pairs a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 577 hp with an electric motor in the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, for a combined 738 hp and 738 lb-ft with M xDrive all-wheel drive.
BMW quotes 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 155-mph limited top speed, or 175 mph with the M Driver's Package. The 19.2-kWh (net) battery gives an EPA-rated electric range of about 29 miles, and an 11-kW onboard charger, up from 7.4 kW, cuts a full Level 2 charge to about two hours. The base XM was dropped for 2026, when the Label's price fell to $159,600.
It suits buyers who want BMW's most powerful production model with short-range electric driving and a large, five-seat cabin.
